Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager jobs in New York

As a Director of Health, Safety, and Loss Prevention (also known as Safety and Compliance Director, Health and Safety Manager), you'll oversee compliance with all local, state, and federal environment, health, and safety regulations. Your responsibilities will include managing the organization's medical monitoring program, developing and implementing company-wide safety and health strategies, conducting routine safety audits, and leading investigations into accidents and injuries. You'll also be responsible for fostering a culture of safety and health, managing interactions with regulatory agencies, and serving as the company representative for safety and occupational health matters.

• 10 years of relevant experience including 5 years leading a Health & Safety function.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Professional Health and Safety certification preferred (e.g., CSP, CSHM).
• Well-developed knowledge and understanding of relevant H&S federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence others.
• Strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience writing Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in Machine Safety Inspections, Budgeting/Forecasting, Communication, Root Cause Analysis, Basic Computer Skills, Microsoft Excel, Hazardous Materials, Customer Service, Leadership/People Management, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, HVAC/R Systems.
