    The Departmental Technician 7-10 positions serve as a technical resource for the Tax Administrative Support Unit and will provide a full range of technical assistance for the area with special focus on the Marihuana Retailers Excise Tax (MRE) attestation and as well as Tax Clearance processes. Responsibilities of the position include documentation of processes and procedures, recommendation of efficiency improvements, and collaboration with other Treasury departments/divisions.     One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service.

    One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service.

    Departmental Technician E9

    One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.

    One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.

    Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service.


    Departmental Technician 10

    Two years of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.

    This position is eligible for remote work up to five days per week. The selected candidate must have a safe and appropriate designated workspace or workstation for performance of work. A secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required. Please note that occasional onsite work will be required.

    Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.

    The Michigan Department of Treasury participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

    Interviews will likely occur virtually using Microsoft Teams. No prior experience with Teams is necessary, as instructions and tips will be provided to all candidates scheduled for an interview.
