Environmental Services Coordinator coordinates and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Inspects the work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Environmental Services Coordinator maintains and updates environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with and trains employees on all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Environmental Services Coordinator requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an Environmental Services Coordinator typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing is seeking a Discharge Nurse Clinician to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient education and discharge planning under the supervision of the Director of Pediatric Care Coordination Division.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:- Coordinate and/or assist in the planning process for discharge of patients
- Serve as a resource and liaison for bedside nurses, patients and families for children being discharged from SFCH
- Provide follow-up phone calls to families of children post discharge from the hospital
- Assist with discharge planning including providing education to patients and families to provide a smooth transition from hospital to home
Percent of Time: 100%
Schedule: 40 hours per week, M-F, 0730-1600
Location: Stead Family Children's Hospital (SFCH)

Required Qualifications:
- A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
- Reasonable (1-3 years) recent obstetric/antepartum/gynecology nursing experience in a hospital or academic healthcare environment
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa
- Demonstrates expertise with discharge planning for obstetric and gynecology patients with complex health care needs (involving multiple departments and external agencies).
- Demonstrated expertise in specific clinical area of practice
- Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with an interdisciplinary team
- Experience in quality management
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous case management experience is desired
- Certification in case management and/or inpatient obstetric nursing, antepartum nursing, obstetric and neonatal quality and safety, maternal newborn nursing is desired
- Pervious experience with EPIC is desired
