Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to assure enrolled Vaccines For Children (VFC) program providers are in compliance with state and federal VFC program requirements by providing quality assurance and quality improvement site visits to Maryland VFC providers. This position will also determine, analyze, and evaluate VFC provider vaccine plans and policies and immunization coverage rates. This position will also assist the program in achieving its mission of working in partnership with community providers to prevent, control, and monitor infectious diseases. The position also involves driving to various locations using a state vehicle. The applicant must possess a valid Maryland State driver's license and be willing to travel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Three years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. 2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess: 1. Experience/knowledge of state vaccine policies, plans, and immunization practices. 2. Experience in customer service and problem-solving. 3. Excellent verbal/written communication skills/knowledge.
