Executive Steward oversees staff responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen(s) or other food preparation areas. Assists in cleaning equipment or food preparation areas as needed. Being an Executive Steward is responsible for inventory control and kitchen equipment, item management. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations. Additionally, Executive Steward may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Executive Steward supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Executive Steward typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Our Executive Steward will work alongside our Executive Chef to lead stewarding within our 71 meeting rooms, 11 exhibit halls, and three multi-purpose ballrooms event space. Our Executive Steward is an integral member of our culinary team. You will be are responsible for managing primarily non-food production areas of the kitchen, to include the dish room, storage areas and other utility areas.
Our Executive Steward is responsible for cleanliness and sanitation within the kitchen, for maintenance of key equipment and for the inventory, storage and distribution of the facilities supply of banqueting items such as silver, china, glassware and linen. Our Executive Steward is responsible for leading the Stewarding Department hourly staff and is responsible for monitoring and organizing the flow of activity within the kitchen in a way that complements and supports quality food preparation and service.
