Job description
The Exhibit Manufacturing and service assistant assists the maintenance team with the upkeep, repair, and cleanliness of museum facilities, exhibits, and equipment. They also assist in the process of making new exhibits & updating current exhibits.
Principle Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Exhibits Maintenance:
· Assist Exhibits Director with all aspects of exhibit maintenance, safety, upkeep, cleanliness, and repair as instructed.
· Maintain exhibit safety and longevity. Manage all small exhibit items are in good repair. Note any worn exhibit materials and report to a director.
· Assist in maintenance and production projects as instructed.
· Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds along with normal physical labor
· Must be willing to do a variety of maintenance tasks.
· Knowledge of power tools and shop experience a plus
· Ensure daily and weekly maintenance assignments are completed in a timely manner.
· Manage small exhibit item cleaning schedules and rotations.
· General handy man skills a plus

General:
· Assist in all aspects of opening/closing procedures of the museum, including operating the admission desk, phone, and other office duties as assigned
· Stay informed of all museum policy and procedures, including attendance of all staff meetings and trainings
· Assist all museum staff with other projects as needed
