Being an Exploration Director initiates exploration plans based on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Directs geological and geophysical programs and may have oversight for land acquisition and leasing activities. Additionally, Exploration Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Exploration Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Exploration Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Main Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Provides support to the entire team to execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting and retention for a high-growth oil and gas company.
    • Responsible for the full life cycle of an employee from recruiting, onboarding, development and retention.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance including maintaining complete and accurate employee records.
    • Function as the primary resource for all employee relational issues surrounding behavioral or performance concerns as well as assisting and training all supervisors on conversations with their direct reports.
    • Manage employee leave of absences and acts as a resource on all employee related benefits while coordinating with the parent company HR.
    • Administers and maintains employee compensation files, payroll system, and history. Additionally supports team with market data analysis and compensation recommendations
    • Create and maintain HR metrics and organizational charts and interpret trends to inform future strategy.
    • Primary resource associated with the execution of HRM systems and processes such as employee payroll, performance management, and benefits. This may include evaluation and implementation of new systems, coordination with managed service providers, or maintenance of existing systems and processes
    • Support corporate and departmental leadership with contractor management needs to maintain visibility of G&A spend and ongoing engagements.
    • Responsible for day-to-day tactical/operational human resources related functions including company policies (upkeep, distribution, acknowledgement, etc.),
    • Promote an open culture; one of respect, open communication, and partnership.


    Education and Experience

    • BA in Business and/or Human Resources preferred
    • 7 years of experience and employment in applicable field
    • O&G experience through employment with O&G Company preferred
    • Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR) preferred
