Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator, Sr. adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator, Sr. may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Extrusion Operator, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. As An Extrusion Operator, You Will Have The Opportunity To Tap Into Your Curiosity And Collaborate With Some Of The Most Innovative And Diverse People Around The World. Here, You Will Make An Impact By- Assisting in the implementation of new equipment as we grow as a plant/company.
- Implementing key initiatives designed to give our customers their best experiences.
- Developing others as you mature to a trainer and leader.
- Supporting engineering problem solving projects
- Creating best practices and selling others on those practices through our employee suggestion program
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Lean Training
- Kaizen experience
- Previous PIV/forklift experience
- Grinding or extruding experience in a manufacturing setting
- Twin screw experiences are a huge plus.
