Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. What You'll Do:
Strategic Planning & Oversight: Craft long-term facility strategies in line with our goals, assess facility needs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Operational Excellence: Manage all aspects of facility operations, including maintenance, renovations, and budgeting. Implement preventive maintenance to maximize asset longevity.

What You Bring:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related (Master’s preferred). At least 10 years in facilities management with experience at a national level.
Licenses & Skills: Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and preferred Facilities Management certification (FMP, CFM, IFMA). Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical Proficiency: General knowledge of Yardi, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Physical & Work Environment:
Ability to perform medium to heavy physical tasks and work in various settings, including office environments, residential properties, and construction sites.
Flexibility to travel and adapt to a dynamic schedule is essential.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in multi-family property management or a related field. Proven experience in a Director of Facilities role with oversight of multiple facilities, preferred at a national level.
Licenses/Certificates:
Valid driver’s license along with good driving record and auto insurance required. Facilities Management certification (e.g., FMP, CFM, or IFMA) is highly desirable.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Excellent ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with multiple contractors, material suppliers, and onsite team.
Equipment, Software:
General working knowledge of Yardi and MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
