Facilities Engineer plans and implements the design of plants, offices, and production lines in order to maximize the use of available space and improve production efficiency. Estimates costs related to layout design, including equipment and materials, labor, etc. and monitors the construction process. Being a Facilities Engineer researches production/processing equipment or fixtures for purchase and gathers data relating to their ability to meet organizational needs. Ensures that established efficiency and safety targets are met. Additionally, Facilities Engineer typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Role Description
We have a very exciting role for a Facilities Engineer to join a large Building Services/ Facilities Management company in Shoreview, Minnesota. This role will offer a wealth of training and progression for the successful applicant.
This Facilities Engineer role is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.
What You’ll Do:
• Assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment,
including servicing and maintenance.
• Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• React to Building Management System alarms, and complete emergency repairs as needed.
• Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and
all applicable laws and regulations.
• Alert management if subcontractor performance doesn’t meet all requirements per the Master Service
Agreement.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
• Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC-related client problems.
• Building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDU’s and utilities.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
What You’ll Need:
• Training in a Technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related
experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Ability to work
shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
• To effectively present information to an internal department, client, management and/or colleagues.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
