Facilities Manager manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Manager monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Manager trains supervisors and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Beneficent Church is seeking a self-motivated, part-time Facilities Manager to join our staff and provide general maintenance and repairs to the church buildings, grounds, adjacent Palmer House, and Abbott Park. The successful candidate will oversee all mechanical and structural aspects of the building; supervise any maintenance work performed by contractors; maintain the operation of the HVAC systems, fire alarm system and elevator; perform basic landscaping; set up spaces for church functions; and manage supply inventory.
The successful candidate will have at least a trade school or high school diploma or equivalent, prior maintenance/repair experience, prior plumbing and electrical experience, knowledge of operating HVAC systems, management experience, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. The part-time position (25-28 hours per week) has flexible hours and requires occasional evenings and weekends to set up for meetings, rentals, and church events. The ideal candidate is well organized, detail oriented, and an effective communicator who proactively identifies and addresses any maintenance issues.
