The Office of Unemployment Insurance, under the Education and Labor Cabinet, supports Kentuckians in their job search and unemployment challenges. Our mission is to assist those who are unemployed or underemployed by overseeing unemployment insurance benefit payments, providing claim assistance, enforcing unemployment insurance tax requirements, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Position Overview
As an Unemployment Insurance Auditor I, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with KY UI tax laws and regulations. This is a remote workstation position, based on the selected candidate's home address within the counties of Breckinridge, Daviess, Grayson, Hancock, Henderson, Hopkins, McLean, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Union, or Webster.
Responsibilities- Audit employer payroll records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Review and interpret regulatory reporting standards.
- Secure and complete quarterly unemployment wage and tax reports.
- Investigate employer/employee relationships to determine worker coverage.
- Complete necessary forms to establish or void employer accounts.
- Assist in legal actions for collection and participate in tax appeal hearings.
- Complete daily, monthly reports, travel vouchers, and timesheets as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management abilities.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure.

Minimum Requirements- Education: Bachelor's degree including twelve semester hours or eighteen quarter hours in accounting or finance courses.
