    GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
    The Financial Aid Director will play a critical role in our Student Services Department by administering student
    loan, work-study, as well as veteran and grant programs for students. The Financial Aid Director position must
    effectively work with the Financial Aid Technician to administer financial aid programs in support of the
    mission and vision of CNCC to ensure access and support progression and performance of our students. These
    responsibilities require strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to work with a diverse
    student population, as well as an aptitude for administering financial aid programs to ensure compliance with all
    FERPA and Federal Title IV regulations.

    PRIMARY DUTIES:
    1. Disseminate and clarify information to current and prospective students and their families concerning all

    available financial aid programs, application processes, eligibility, scholarship applications and status.
    Provide financial aid counseling to students and families.

    2. Schedule and present informational workshops on financial aid at high schools, outreach sights and on
    campus.

    3. Collect, analyze, and review financial aid applications and documents to ensure accuracy, completeness
    and compliance to federal, state and institutional regulations, policies and procedures.

    4. Responsible for the adjustment of student budgets to ensure financial aid is not over-awarded.



    5. Coordinate the Scholarship, Student Loan, Work Study programs, and Veteran’s Administration
    program.

    6. Supervise Financial Aid Technician; provide training and support on all aspects of the financial aid
    office.

    7. Coordinate with the system financial aid office regarding, packaging, verification, return of title four,
    and satisfactory academic progress.

    8. Complete secondary review of return of title four and satisfactory academic progress.
    9. Complete reconciliation for Pell, Direct Loans, and Federal Work-Study, monthly.
    10. Assist in the development and/or informational and promotional materials for prospective students.
    11. Review students’ Satisfactory Progress and manage the appeal process. Collect, verify, and perform

    initial review of Professional Judgment requests. Work closely with the Professional Judgment appeal
    committee and assist in notifying students of the final decisions.

    12. Complete federal and state reports.
    13. Responsible for report printing and electronic transmission of student data and for document imaging.
    14. Keep current on federal, state, and institutional regulations, policies and procedures.
    15. Participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences to maintain and advance professional development.
    16. Set up and oversee awarding of student financial assistance programs.
    17. Pull Pell and Direct Loan files to be sent to COD and upload response files.
    18. Keep ECAR up to date with DOE.
    19. Process recertification for financial aid with DOE.
    20. Prepare financial aid budget to be submitted to business office yearly.
    21. Update policies and procedures accordingly.
    22. Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President.
    23. Attend meetings on behalf of the Financial Aid Department (See below):

    • Default Management group
    • Military/Veteran Functional Group
    • Monthly Student Services meetings
    • Weekly Rural Community College
    • Monthly Financial Aid meetings


    ESSENTIAL/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    indicated below:
    Education & Training

    • Associate’s Degree in Business & Administration, or other related field. A minimum of five (5 ) years
    of experience in financial aid will be considered in lieu of Associate’s Degree.

    Licensure/Certification
    • Valid Colorado driver license

    • Computer and printer
    • Telephone/fax machine

    Education & Training

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business & Administration, or other related field. A minimum of ten (10 ) years
    of experience in financial aid will be considered in lieu of Associate’s Degree.

    Other qualifications
    • Previous experience with BANNER.
