CSuite Financial Partners has been retained by our valued client, a San Fernando Valley, CA based food industry importer, manufacturer & distributor, to place an Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting.

Our client is a Private Equity owned, Mid-sized, high-growth food industry manufacturing business processing, packaging and merchandising of nuts, seeds, and dried fruits, is seeking an experienced Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial and tax reporting, risk management, financial systems and internal control policies and procedures. Company is headquartered in San Fernando Valley.

The Ideal candidate will be hard-working, highly motivated and possess exceptional technical accounting knowledge, manufacturing industry experience, analytical and critical thinking skills, and a passion for excellence.

This role reports directly to the the CFO.

In addition, ongoing interaction with the Company’s senior management and private equity sponsors and the hands-on management of a team of specialists. Significant opportunity exists to develop next-level skills through generating analysis to drive strategic decisions, managing processes, and enhancing existing reporting, systems, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare Annual Budget & Budget vs Actual Analysis
• Prepare Monthly Financials and Covenant calculations for all external parties
• Prepare Business Unit and financials for internal parties
• Prepare all financial decks, to include Cost/Variance Analysis reports, to be used and presented by the CFO to top management, Lenders, and Board of Directors
• Assist with Diligence on acquisitions or Lender due diligence
• Oversee the Cost Analysis and Pricing systems for the company
• Gather historical cost data (materials, labor, freight, operating expenses, etc.), to compare budgets with actual expenses
• Help to lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting of business line results as well as maintain forecast accuracy
• Assist in the valuation of purchased assets.
• Analyze working financial performance and identify risks/opportunities vs. forecast, plan, and prior year.
• Assist in preparation of business reviews and presentations to senior management, including performance to plan and forecast, and ad hoc analysis.
• Develop and maintain rapport with key managers of businesses to facilitate information sharing.
• Develop, drive, and implement process improvements and standardizations.
• Assist in the review of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to company accounting and financial guidelines.
• Direct and support the accurate development, maintenance, and reporting of manufacturing, raw materials, packaging, shipping and fulfillment, and other inventory-related costs in accordance with financial guidelines.
• Review / analyze Material Margin, Inventory levels / movement including the maintenance of companies and SLOB (Slow Moving/Obsolete)
• Prepare cost estimates of new or special products for establishing selling prices including the existing Pricing Models for Customers
• Review and analyze Labor within the production environment working with Operations to review and report as to headcounts and labor costs providing reporting and guidance, as necessary.
• Additional duties and ad-hoc projects, as necessary

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance desired
• CPA or MBA a plus
• public accounting experience , not mandatory but a plus
• 10 years of total accounting experience desired
• 5 years of cost accounting/ corporate financial analysis , a MUST
• Experience in food & beverage industry, manufacturing / distribution environment, a plus
• Advanced in MS Excel, a MUST
• Knowledge of electronic inventory tracking system, a plus (RFID or barcode)
• Highly detail oriented and organized with ability to meet assigned deadlines
• Outstanding oral communication, analytical and written skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced high-growth environment and improve/implement processes as the Company and Finance department grow
