Furnace Operator/Tender jobs in South Carolina

As IKO Industries continue to grow, we’re seeking a skilled Furnace and Batch Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Role Overview: As a Furnace and Batch Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our glass production processes. Your expertise will directly impact product quality, safety, and overall productivity. Responsibilities:

• Process Optimization: Maximize furnace life by conducting regular inspections, performing repairs, and maintaining proper operational control (temperature, pressure, etc.).
• Equipment Maintenance: Monitor the condition of batch, furnace, and forehearth equipment. Initiate necessary repairs to meet performance and production goals.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain melting temperature profiles in the furnace and forehearth. Ensure high glass quality and efficient fiber forming.
• Technology Exchange: Collaborate with other teams to facilitate technology exchange between our company and external partners.
• Batch Formulas: Keep accurate records and input batch formulas for consistent production.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in furnace and manufacturing processes
• Green Belt or Black Belt certification (preferred)
• Working knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma methodology, and Wonderware/Noltec systems
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
