General Laborer, Sr. jobs in New York
General Laborer, Sr. performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, digging, and moving materials. Operates a variety of tools to complete assignments according to internal and external policies and regulations. Being a General Laborer, Sr. assembles and disassembles machines, tools, and other work-related equipment. Assists engineers and a variety of other functions with manual labor tasks as needed. Additionally, General Laborer, Sr. may require a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The General Laborer, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Electrical: May include undertaking wiring and lighting requirements. Knowledge of basic or advanced electrical systems requiring different specialist equipment. Responsible for analyzing and repairing existing electrical circuits. Staying up to date with installation processes and safety precautions.
Plumbing: Know how to install water piping to transport water and waste. Ability to install toilets, showers and water outlets offering drinking water. Where piping systems are eroding, your duties may include reconstruction planning and reinforcing existing pipes with anti-rust materials.
Painting: Ability to understand painting techniques, color combinations and surface types. Knowledge of painting accessories, application methods and various paint types.
Renovation: Basic knowledge of construction equipment as well as discarding debris.
Carpentry: Knowledge of cutting, polishing and fitting materials as part of complete structures. Ability to build furniture and ensure wall fittings are securely in place. Understanding which adhesive materials and nail types support component integration. Ability to collaborate with plumbers, painting teams and electricians to complete installations correctly.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Preferred)
Ability to Relocate:
- Long Island, NY: Relocate before starting work (Required)
