Glazier installs glass in windows, skylights, store fronts, and display cases, or on surfaces such as building fronts, interior walls, ceilings, and tabletops. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Glazier may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Glazier relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Our company is seeking a Glazier to install glass in many projects throughout the area. The ideal candidate must be able to work well with minimal supervision.
Applicants should have a valid driver’s license and be able to read a tape measure. Willing to train a hard-working individual to cut and install glass.
Glazier Duties and Responsibilities
- Install deck glass for residential or commercial projects.
- Remove and install commercial double store-front doors.
- Measure and install single and double paned windows.
- Measure and install shower glass
- Measure, cut, and install mirrors.
- Repair and fabricate screens.
- Communicate with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
Glazier Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Prior experience with commercial store-fronts and windows a plus but not required
- Knowledge of glass types and the different materials required for glass repair and installation a plus but not required
- The ability to use glazier hand tools and equipment to measure and cut various materials for repair or maintenance
- The ability to apply re-glaze, adhesives, or putty to doors, glass areas, and window sashes
- Attention to detail
