Golf Superintendent is responsible for overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Oversees continued development of golf course during golf season to improve playing conditions and maintenance of course during off-season. Being a Golf Superintendent manage purchasing, replenishment, and inventory of all materials, supplies, and equipment used to maintain golf course. Liaises with the Head Golf Professional on any issues related to golf course operations and maintenance. Additionally, Golf Superintendent typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Golf Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Superintendent to join our Golf Course team. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to ensure the successful completion of construction projects. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Superintendent in overseeing all aspects of the Golf Course, including hiring, mowing, cleaning, removal, planning
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
- Review and improve current methods of action
- Assist with the coordination of material deliveries and equipment usage
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders
- Assist in resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction process
- Provide support in managing project schedules using construction management software such as Primavera or Prolog
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of golf course processes, techniques, and best practices
- Proficiency in golf course equipment and overall landscape design
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams of employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise during golf course related projects
- Experience in construction estimating is preferred
