Government Affairs Director implements strategic plans and oversees engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses' goals. Manages teams that build relationships and liaise with government entities(federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Being a Government Affairs Director performs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives. Additionally, Government Affairs Director creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Requires a bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Government Affairs Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Government Affairs Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose
The BJC Career Development Intern Program (CDIP) will support the pipeline initiatives of BJC Healthcare. We have a variety of paid internships for both undergraduate and graduate students. Most internship assignments are project-based. As an intern in the career development program students can expect to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. Students must be enrolled in a degreed program - preference given to students who have completed at a minimum, freshmen year.Students will have exposure to a variety of professional experiences: •Professional development training and workshops•Extensive networking opportunities•Interaction with senior leaders•A dedicated support network
