    Description/Job Summary

    Lindahl Reed is hiring a Government Construction Representative to support a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) construction project at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island. The Construction Representative will oversee the construction of an in-water and waterfront construction project. Candidates should have a proven ability as a project manager, dealing with the technical aspects of Government construction projects.  Excellent written and oral communication skills expected, with the ability to communicate well with various types of audiences.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Provide oversight on behalf of NOAA and ensure the construction work is done correctly and within the project’s scope.
    • Engage stakeholders and provide communication to Project Manager.
    • Review design documents to include drawings, specifications, and submittals.
    • Monitor the contractor’s compliance with plans, specifications, and contract terms.
    • Prepare reports on work progress.
    • Generate monthly and daily status reports.
    • Maintain a record of the construction process.
    • Resolve disputes between contractors and project owner.


    Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

    • 3-5 years of experience in construction field.
    • Prior experience as a construction representative a plus
    • Be familiar with building codes, construction materials, and methods.
    • Be a self-starter.
    • Have excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with various parties involved in a construction project.


    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with federal government construction projects.
