Here's What You Will Be Doing...
- Works closely with Marketing and Communications Manager to implement strategic plans and develop content for a holistic marketing approach across all channels.
- Drive the overall creative direction for the Council. Conceptualize, create, and produce a wide range of marketing assets including print, video, digital communication, social media ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and enhance brand visibility.
- Lead copywriting and editing efforts to ensure the alignment of messaging with brand guidelines and strategic objectives, while maintaining high-quality standards across all marketing materials.
- Works collaboratively across departments to advise on creative assets that align with GSHNJ’s mission and strategic objectives, ensuring cohesive branding and messaging throughout marketing and communication campaigns.
- Produces a wide range of print collateral, ensuring alignment with GSUSA branding guidelines and standards, while managing vendor relationships from quote to fiscal management, and securing optimal pricing agreements.
- Coordinates the creation and distribution of membership-wide email communications.
- Oversees relationships with freelance graphic designers, providing guidance on brand guidelines and standards as needed.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of GSUSA marketing techniques, branding updates, system changes, and programming opportunities to enhance member engagement across all council initiatives.
- Remains current on GSUSA’s and GSHNJ’s initiatives, and national and local trends affecting girls, attends GSUSA webinars, participates in Chatter groups, and utilizes gsConnect.
- Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
- Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all appropriate youth and adults by actively participating in the development of environments that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and access through words, actions, and attitude.
- Ensures compliance with GSHNJ’s Charter of Values, and uses it as the basis for personal conduct, conflict resolution, and correspondence with customers and coworkers.
Is this you?
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Marketing, Communications, or related field or equivalent experience required.
- 3-5 years of experience in graphic design and marketing.
- A dynamic candidate with demonstrated proficiency in the design and execution of marketing materials including printed collateral materials, animations, and short videos.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) and prepare assets for production according to printers’ standards.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, content management systems (Asana), email marketing software and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- A Graphic Design Lead that is organized, detail-oriented and possesses excellent time management skills who can plan, organize, and prioritize work, to successfully meet multiple project deadlines.
- Ability to adapt, flex, and reprioritize as business needs change.
- A Graphic Design Lead who can work independently within a collaborative environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Flexibility to shift work hours as needed, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift and manipulate up to 30 pounds of Girl Scouting products, supplies, or materials.
- A valid driver's license, current insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle are required for travel between council properties and across entire service area as needed.
- Become a registered member of Girl Scouts and maintain membership for duration of employment.
