Grinder operates grinding machines to assemble products and product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications. Selects, mounts, attaches and calibrates a variety of attachments to grind angles, contours, lines, spheres, etc. on to surfaces. Being a Grinder requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Grinder works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Description/Job Duties (include, but are not limited to):
· Completed Extrusion Packer training for Extrusion
· Completed Material Handling training for Extrusion
· Report for work and to supervisor prior to start of shift. Clock in at scheduled time and be at workstation on time.
· Transport material (virgin or regrind resin, colorant, packaging materials, etc.) to the machines.
· Inspect all finished product prior to stacking for holes, labels, etc.
· Correctly fill out Packer Inspection Sheet
· Transport finished goods from station to inventory area.
· Assist Packers with cutting lumber with table saw, chop saw, or hand saw as needed.
· Assist Packers with completion of bundles as needed.
· Weighing of Scrap.
· Keep machine bins full at all times (verify the specific material before loading bins).
· Clean any material spills on machine or around machine due to loading, purging, or any other handling.
· Help give packers and material handlers breaks as needed.
· Grind runners & scrap parts & assure no contamination takes place. Clearly identify on the Gaylord or drum the date, shift, and description of material and name of the Material Handler.
· When a material change occurs, fill out all required paperwork.
· Mix the regrind in appropriate % with the virgin material.
· Maintain and dump all garbage into main dumpster at the end of the shift prior to leaving (This includes the break room garbage).
· Flatten empty Gaylord’s and blending bags and place in an organized manner prior to shipping.
· Help with material inventory (raw material, packaging).
· Help maintain Housekeeping around machines and grinding area, as well as the plant.
· Operate forklift truck.
· Do other duties as assigned by supervisor.
· Be able to lift 50lbs.
· Maintain the highest quality work to continuously ensure customer satisfaction.
· Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
