Grocery Store Manager plans and directs the day-to-day operations of a grocery store. Develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability. Being a Grocery Store Manager ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. Ensures all products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability. Additionally, Grocery Store Manager forecasts staffing needs and develops a recruiting strategy to provide optimal staffing in all areas. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Grocery Store Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Grocery Store Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Harford County, MD. As a Grocery Store Kitchen Manager at Klein's Family Markets, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen department. Your duties will include managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety and quality, developing menus, and implementing effective kitchen processes. You will also collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in kitchen management, preferably in a grocery store or food retail setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to develop and implement menus based on customer preferences and trends
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or hospitality certification is a plus
