Groundskeeper cuts and maintains lawns and grass. Rakes leaves and cares for plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Being a Groundskeeper determines the appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons. Additionally, Groundskeeper is responsible for snow and dirt removal. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition. Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. May require horticultural training. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Groundskeeper works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. As a key member of the General Services Grounds Department, you will assist in the maintenance of all exterior areas of the property. This is a year-round, full-time position Tuesday through Saturday 7:30a-4:00p compensation: commensurate with experience starting at $18/ hour. How you will make an impact: Maintain all lawns, trees, gardens, and shrubbery. Upkeep of all exterior areas and parking areas, including trash removal, weeding, pet stations, dog runs, fencing, etc. Installs and maintains exterior signs Assist residents with gardening, snow removal of the community. Assists with oversight of landscaping and maintenance of all associated equipment. Identifies Horticultural-related problems and possibly offers recommendations.
