Groundskeeper cuts and maintains lawns and grass. Rakes leaves and cares for plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Being a Groundskeeper determines the appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons. Additionally, Groundskeeper is responsible for snow and dirt removal. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition. Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. May require horticultural training. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Groundskeeper works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Facilities Management at UW-Platteville invites applications for the Groundskeeper Lead position. The Groundskeeper Lead directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in landscaping, gardening, groundskeeping, tree pruning, and snow removal activities to ensure completion of grounds work assignments.
This individual may assist in planning and implementing landscaping projects.
This is a full-time, benefit, and paid leave eligible position. Wage for this position is $21.50 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
