Responsibilities include coordinating and conducting team practices, supervision and leadership at games, building a strong rapport with the athletes, and having a passion for soccer. Head Speech Coach - St. Mary's Central High School and St. Mary’s Academy
Accepting applications for the Head Speech Coach for students in grades 7-12. Responsibilities include holding practices during the season (January through mid-April) each day after school until about 5:30 pm, communicating with middle school and high school assistant speech coaches and students about practice and competition schedules, being available each Saturday of the speech season to attend meets, recruiting and hiring judges, and working with the coaching staff to host and run the St. Mary's Central High School Capital City Lions tournament (held in February). Qualifications include having a strong understanding of literature and speech construction, and experience with speech competitions.
Student Congress Coach - St. Mary's Central High School
Accepting applications for a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as a coach for the St. Mary’s Central High School Student Congress Team for the Fall (September through November) of 2024 and beyond. This position involves mentoring and guiding students in the art of debate, public speaking, and critical thinking through preparing for and participation in student congress competitions. The coach will organize practice sessions and coordinate logistics for competitions. Qualifications include having a strong understanding of parliamentary procedure, legislative processes, debate techniques and public speaking. Must have a bachelors degree in a related field and previous coaching/teaching experience, experience participating in student congress or debate programs preferred.
