Head Nurse - Emergency Room jobs in Louisiana
Head Nurse - Emergency Room directs nursing service activities in the emergency room. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and emergency room staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of emergency room patient clinical records, and writes reports on emergency room staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - Emergency Room maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Emergency Room typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Emergency Room manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Emergency Room typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. 51 bed Emergency Room (ER) unit seeks a team-playing, dedicated RN to join their ranks. 1:4 unit staffing, Meditech charting. 380 bed Level 2 Trauma center & certified Stroke center. Hospital has been recognized as one of Americas 50 Best Hospitals for Vascular Surgery.
City of 50K along the Red River in central LA, about 2 hours each to Baton Rouge & Shreveport. Alexandria offers area lakes, outdoor recreation, golf, an acclaimed zoo, and historic sites. The city also enjoys annual events such as the Louisiana Dragon Boat Races, Holiday Trail of Lights, the Louisiana Elvis Festival, and the Alex River Fete.
Requirements
Years of Experience: 1.
TNCC, ACLS, PALS -or- ENPC, BLS
Perm LA or Compact license (#/exp)
Preferred Requirements
Trauma experience
