Being a Health Underwriter performs group and/or individual underwriting. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Health Underwriter typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Health Underwriter gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Position Summary


    Responsible for evaluating, underwriting, preparing loan documents, and funding consumer loan applications in accordance with loan policy and procedures, while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. You will also demonstrate teamwork by positively engaging and cooperating with fellow associates, management, and various branches and departments, all while actively supporting and promoting the Credit Union's Vision, Mission, Culture, and Core Values.


    Primary Responsibilities


    • Review loan applications, credit reports, and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
    • Verify borrower information, employment history, income, and membership status.
    • Ensure loan applications and documentation align with loan policy, lending guidelines, and banking regulations.
    • Demonstrate comprehension of Kentucky title liens and the procedures required to ensure that Service One Credit Union is correctly listed as the primary lienholder on our vehicle loans.
    • Promptly detect and address discrepancies or problems in loan files, taking corrective measures to uphold file integrity.
    • Accurately prepare loan documents in accordance with underwriting decisions.
    • Ensure timely and compliant funding of loans.
    • Conduct rigorous quality control checks on loan files to minimize errors.
    • Properly archive documentation for future reference.
    • Prepares and delivers adverse actions notices.

    Additional Responsibilities


    • Exemplifies and promotes the Credit Union's culture including its Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
    • Participates in Credit Union special projects and

    Educational/Experience Requirements


    • Associate Degree in a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in the financial services industry preferred.
