Healthcare Service Line Director develops and manages all functions within a specific service line e.g., oncology, cardiac, women's, orthopedics. Establishes effective strategies for programs, product/service line, and physician integration and resource utilizations with the goal of increasing service line growth, efficiency, and patient experience. Being a Healthcare Service Line Director requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Healthcare Service Line Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Healthcare Service Line Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Summary :

    This position serves as a Director for the Cancer Service Line and is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the service line including the clinical care, diagnostic evaluation, and non-clinical functions.

    This position provides leadership, direction, and support for clinical services in the pursuit to achieve quality outcomes, reduce costs, and shape and interpret the standards required to ensure a high degree of patient, physician, and employee satisfaction.

    Responsibilities :

    Assesses service line staffing effectiveness for the best provision of services and improving patient and surgeon satisfaction by continual review of key department staffing indicators, competency and skill mix.

    Develops a culture of employee engagement and service excellence. Establishes high performance standards for service outcomes and works with leadership team to meet standards and continually improve patient satisfaction and loyalty.

    Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.

    Provides all customers with an excellent service experience by demonstrating behaviors consistent with the culture of the organization every day.

    Strives to uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization.Provides leadership for the service line, ensuring its strategic and fiscal growth and positioning the organization as a market leader with employees, physicians, and the community.

    Collaborates with the community, physicians, and other providers to identify under-met or changing needs of the population and develops new programs accordingly.

    Provides direction for process improvement activities, including the establishment of performance measures to attain optimal clinical, operational, financial and satisfaction outcomes.

    Directs the collection, analysis, and presentation of data on utilization patterns and other program outcomes.Manages the financial and capital resources for areas of responsibility by monitoring operating revenue and expenses, establishing and maintaining cost control programs, and developing and implementing new or revised programs and / or services set out in the business plan.

    Develops and implements strategies to work with all internal and external customers to ensure appropriate reimbursement.

    Explores and develops new services and technological advancements related to area(s) of responsibility, plans for current and future needs using research and data, as well as validates need for related resources and capital.

    Responsible for ensuring overall compliance to Master Service Line Agreement.Performs other duties as needed.Responsible for developing, managing, and updating the service line strategic plan (including capital and operating budgets, business plans, and forecasts) to achieve strategic goals and objectives in consideration of all aspects of the business (clinical, research, and teaching).

    Customers include all levels of nursing management and staff, medical staff, and other health care members, patients and families, vendors, and other external agencies.

    Required Work Experience : Minimum of three (3) years' work experience in finance or IT / data analytics. Other Information : Additional Education Info : Business, IT / Analytics, Health Care Administration.

    Additional Education Info : Master's Degree preferred.
