    McLaughlin Research Corporation has an opening for a full time Heavy Equipment Operator supporting the Infrastructure Division and Facilities Branch at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport Division.

    The Heavy Equipment Operator operates heavy equipment such as cranes, clamshells, power shovels, motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scrapper attachments. Equipment is used to excavate, load, or move dirt, gravel, or other materials. The Heavy Equipment Operator may read and interpret grade and slope stakes and simple plans, and may grease, adjust and make emergency repairs to equipment.  The qualified candidate will perform physical tasks to transport or store materials or merchandise. Duties involve one or more of the following: manually loading or unloading freight cars, trucks, or other transporting devices; unpacking, shelving, or placing items in proper storage locations; or transporting goods by hand truck, cart, or wheelbarrow.

    This position is contingent on contract award.
     

    Job Requirements

    Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating Category II and III cranes.

    Must possess or be able to obtain Navy Crane Center (NCC) crane operators’ accordance with the NAVFAC P-307.
