Responsibilities :
Based in Westerly, Rhode Island, in this role you will be directly involved with the overall daily operations and general maintenance of equipment at a 3.
3MGD wastewater treatment facility.
Position will eventually be 'on-call' once training is complete. Potential for overtime, weekend, holiday work.
Duties will include, but not limited to, daily rounds, laboratory analysis, record keeping, process control, sludge thickening, maintenance projects and general facility and grounds maintenance.
Work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
Our operators participate in an "on call" rotation for plant coverage outside normal workday hours and shifts will include weekends.
In addition, operators will be required to respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed.
Willing to train a candidate who has interest.
Individual would take day-to-day direction from the Lead Operator or Project Manager.
Individuals will be responsible to operate and maintain the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and chemical systems in a wastewater treatment facility.
Understand the principles associated with pumps, motors, controls, valves, pipes and power sources to process wastewater.
Read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, drawings and service bulletins. Prepare and perform preventative maintenance on all equipment, as specified.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Experience and functional knowledge of Word, Excel and the ability to learn moderately complex software programs. Ability to work with the general public in a respectful, tactful manner.
