House Supervisor provides oversight for multiple hospital departments in the absence of unit management. Addresses patient care, staffing, and any other issues that may arise. Being a House Supervisor supervises nurses and staff and takes administrative responsibilities and ensures adequate staffing for the oncoming shift. Handles occurrences during the shift, ensuring appropriate documentation and communication. Additionally, House Supervisor determines the issues to be referred to the Administrator on call. Collaborates with patients, family members and physicians to ensure needs are met and problems are resolved. Typically requires a bachelor's degree of nursing. Typically reports to manager or head of a unit/department. Requires certification as a registered nurse (RN). The Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House in Barrington, IL is seeking an experienced Front of the House Supervisor to join its wonderful team that welcomes thousands of retreatants each year.
The Front of the House Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that the house is organized, clean, and that all details of our turnovers from one retreat group to the next are understood by all necessary parties in the retreat house, kitchen staff, and any necessary external partners.
Works with the office team, two-three days a week, to assist with answering phones, welcoming retreatants, registering retreatants for retreats, and other administrative responsibilities.
Supervises and arranges volunteers to help maintain our gardens and libraries, and to do office work that can be done by volunteers.
Ensures all furniture, artwork, and materials are returned back to their proper location in the retreat house after each group leaves and before the next group arrives.
Assists in purchasing items, restocking the retreat house, as well as running occasional errands.
On busiest turnover days, assists the housekeeping and maintenance teams in preparing rooms for the next group.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree –has a degree in hospitality or related field.
At least 3 years of relevant experience working at a hotel or large resort.
Speaks and writes in both Spanish and English.
Must be detail oriented and a strong communicator – verbally and in writing
Must be a gentle, kind and helpful person looking to assist retreatants and all other guests
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Comfortable using the Google Suite of products (Google Docs, Google Sheets, and G-mail)
Must be comfortable inputting data into a database and exporting data for reports.
Must be able to work Mondays to Fridays and occasionally may need to work a weekend during the morning or afternoon (a couple times a year usually)
Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds
Must have a valid driver’s license
