  • The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning client human capital processes and initiatives with client business objectives. The position serves as a consultant to client management on human resource-related issues. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. The HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions and formulates partnerships to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.

    The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the client’s business, its financial position, midrange plans, culture, and its competition. The HRBP will deal with organizational issues including employee relations, employment law, policies and procedures, sexual harassment, discrimination, and matters of compliance. Support will consist mainly of email, virtual meetings, and technical telephone counsel, but the position will include regional and state-wide travel for on-site visits and meetings.

    • Partners with internal Propel HR departments to assist with the successful implementation and onboarding of client companies.
    • Conducts weekly meetings with respective clients and prospects.
    • Consults with supervisors and management for client companies, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
    • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with Propel HR’s internal HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
    • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues for client companies. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
    • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day managing employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory HR compliance for assigned clients. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
    • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to client supervisors and management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
    • Works closely with client leadership and their employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
    • Develops, implements, and maintains updated, custom HR documents (i.e. handbooks, job descriptions, and related employment forms) for client companies.
    • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
    • Consults with clients to develop processes for new hires, promotions and transfers.
    • Provides HR-related guidance and input on business restructures, A&M’s, workforce planning, and succession planning.
    • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
    • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
    • Performs special projects and other work-related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field is preferred

    SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred

    Strong HR Generalist Background; 10 plus years of broad-based professional experience with at least 8 years in all aspects of HR management

    Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.

    Business acumen with consulting capability or experience

    Experience working with all employee levels including Senior level management

    Excellent presentation and customer service skills

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Experience with HRIS systems is preferred, but not required

    Professional Employer Organization (PEO) Experience Preferred

    Proficient in MS Office with expert proficiency in Outlook

    Must be able to travel at least 25% of the time; Maintains current driver’s license, auto insurance, and acceptable motor vehicle driving record.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $71,734.00 - $76,046.00 per year
