Human Resources Director plans and oversees human resources functional operations, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers human resources programs and policies to reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Being a Human Resources Director maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Implements an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes and provide data and reporting on HR activity. Additionally, Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Human Resources Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Human Resources Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

    The City of Foley is one of the most progressive and rapidly growing cities in Alabama. We offer growth opportunities and a chance to make a difference in our community. We are accepting applications for the position of Human Resources Generalist in the General Government Department.

    Under general supervision, this position will be cross-trained on a broad range of HR-related responsibilities, assigned to special projects and will provide overall support for our Human Resources operations.

    Starting annual salary is $39,249.60 annually ($18.87/hr.) with excellent benefits including paid health, dental, and life insurance, retirement through State of Alabama Retirement Systems, disability income coverage, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave, and annual merit raises based on performance. Successful applicant must pass both a drug test and a background check, which includes driving record and criminal history.

    Education And/or Experience

    High School Diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years’ experience or combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

    Special Qualifications Preferred

    • AAPPA Alabama Certified Human Resource Specialist and/or Certified Payroll Specialist

    Physical Demands

    • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
