    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    The Human Resources Generalist will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day administration of human resources programs and processes for personnel including compensation, training and recruiting. This position will also support employee engagement and health and safety initiatives including building a strong safety culture.

    This position will address any questions related to employment, performance, pay, benefits, attendance, workers’ compensation, FMLA. Enforce all policies including, but not limited to, attendance, vacation, and progressive discipline

    Main Duties And Responsibilities

    • Conduct all recruitment efforts for non-exempt personnel, this includes job postings, reviewing applicants, conduct initial phone interviews, bring candidates in for on-site plant tour, process pre-employment background screenings and conduct new-employee orientation.
    • Utilize applicant tracking systems to track and manage candidate profiles, applications, and hiring process.
    • Actively monitors and ensures adequate staffing levels are always maintained.
    • Assist new hires with questions related to enrolling into the employee self-services side of ADP.
    • Manage the review process for non-exempt new hires during the first 90 days of employment.
    • Assist in the administration of timekeeping system and serve as primary backup person for completing light bi-weekly payroll duties (payroll processing is outsourced)
    • May assist in investigations into employee issues and concerns, consult with Human Resources Manager and coordinate necessary action to bring to an appropriate resolution
    • Assist with events, communication initiatives, and special projects (employee engagement activities, wellness programs, employee newsletter)
    • Complete HR administrative duties such as creating and maintaining employee files, completing reports, maintain weekly, monthly, and yearly reports to track key HR metrics.
    • Actively participate in the continuous improvement efforts of the Human Resources function
    • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, (Other degrees acceptable with direct experience in the HR field)
    • 3 years of HR experience, with part/all of that experience being in manufacturing
    • SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification is preferred.
    • Employee relations experience in a non-union environment
    • Conflict resolution skills
    • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Worker's compensation experience and safety knowledge – if preferred
    • Payroll experience
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Solid listening skills
    • Ability to deal with information/situations in a highly confidential manner
    • Prior experience working in a fast-paced HR department supporting 300 employees.
    • Proficient in Teams, Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel
