Human Resources Manager develops human resources policies and programs and directs the staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee engagement, productivity, and company objectives. Manages key HR functions, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, payroll, and employee records. Being a Human Resources Manager develops and delivers internal staff communications. Evaluates, selects, and manages relationships with vendors to provide supplemental HR processes and services. Additionally, Human Resources Manager maintains employee records of pay, benefits, accidents, performance, and other activities and files reporting required to comply with labor laws and regulations. Collaborates with leadership on special projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Human Resources Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Human Resources Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Who are you?

    • You have a minimum of 5-years HR management experience
    • You have a minimum of 2 years working in HR for a US Federal Government contractor
    • You have a minimum of 2 years managing a cleared workforce
    • You have a minimum of 2 years managing a remote/telework workforce
    • Seasoned HR Professional: You have received your Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. You also have 5 years of experience in Human Resource Management. A SHRM certification is a plus, but not required.
    • People Person: The Human Resource Manager will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and establishing and enforcing company policies and practices

    What you'll do:

    • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
    • Creating, improving or expanding on process where needed
    • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
    • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
    • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
    • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
    • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Also understands government contracting compliance with OFCCP, required EEO-1 reporting and VETS reporting
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
