    The Community Behavioral Health Hospital (CBHH) in Annandale, MN is seeking a dynamic individual to join the team as a General Maintenance Worker. Operated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the CBHH is small (16 bed) inpatient psychiatric facility providing rapid assessment and stabilization for adults experiencing an acute mental health episode. The General Maintenance Worker will help minimize risk of spread of infection; maximize safety for staff, patients, and visitors; and to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of areas managed by CBHH, Annandale.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Implement a routine program for cleanliness of building at the CBHH so that the Department of Health, OSHA, and CBHH standards are met and clients reside in a healthy and safe environment;
    • Maintain supply and equipment inventory so that automated or mechanical housekeeping tasks are performed efficiently and timely with the proper equipment;
    • Arrange for repair tasks as assigned throughout the CBHH as to maintain quality housekeeping services;
    • Provide a safe and secure facility so that patients receive quality professional services in a therapeutic environment that is safe for patient and staff.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Knowledge of:

    • Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment.
    • Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.
    • Methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs.

    Ability to:

    • Follow simple oral and written instructions, read and understand operational manuals, and keep simple records.
    • Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.
    • Operate simple maintenance equipment.
    • Stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, lift 50 pounds, carry, push, pull and handle items when performing duties.
