HVAC Mechanic jobs in New Jersey
HVAC Mechanic performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines. Being an HVAC Mechanic follows blueprints or engineering specifications to install units. Performs troubleshooting to identify the cause of problems. Additionally, HVAC Mechanic maintains and secures a spare parts inventory. Recommends purchasing maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies. Typically requires an apprenticeship and/or completion of technical training. Requires a high school diploma. The regulations governing the location may require an HVAC Mechanical State License and EPA Section 608 Certification (CFC). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The HVAC Mechanic works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Summary
- Performs preventive maintenance and repairs as assigned by the supervisor
- Give reports to Supervisor as to the condition of equipment
- Responsible for the operation and repair of pumps, fans, motors, and components of HVAC equipment.

- Responds to calls and work orders pertaining to HVAC

- Must be familiar with major HVAC controls and components
- Must be able to maintain a safe and efficient HVAC operation
- Must be willing to answer emergency calls after hours
- Must be able to assemble and disassemble condenser pumps and parts
- Must be familiar with EPA and HVAC Codes and regulations.

Minimum Education/Certifications
High school or trade school graduate or equivalent
Must possess a NJ State Boiler License and HVAC Certificate.
Minimum Work Experience
Must have at least two years of Boiler & HVAC experience.
Working Conditions
Exposed to heat, cold draft, hot water and streamlines, you must be able to climb a ladder and lift heavy objects.
