    We are hiring a Technician to join our team in the next month as we open our new facility. The Hyperbaric Technician is responsible for administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy and diagnostic testing to patients of ROC, under the supervision of a hyperbaric Physician and/or Nurse Practitioner. All therapeutic and diagnostic modalities will be ordered by the hyperbaric provider.

    Essential Key Job Responsibilities

    • Performs daily opening and closing checklist as well as weekly checklist. Record every chamber cycle on cycle log. Assures the annual maintenance is performed and recorded on chambers.
    • Performs quality control daily on ROC glucometers and performs glucose monitoring as ordered and indicated by patient diagnosis.
    • Implements the physician’s and/or Nurse Practitioners order as indicated by the patient’s treatment plan.
    • Inspects the patient prior to the commencement of each hyperbaric treatment to ensure all safety standards are being adhere to.
    • Performs hyperbaric treatments and monitors the patient during therapy.
    • Performs basic dressing changes and/or wound care within scope of practice, as ordered.
    • Takes serial photographs of the wound for reporting of the patient’s progress.
    • Conducts fire/emergency drills quarterly in hyperbaric suite. Educates ROC staff and includes staff in drills.
    • Responsible for ensuring all back up chamber operators have maintained competency by completing three treatments, a daily startup and shutdown and a weekly checklist per quarter.
    • Reviews any adverse events within the hyperbaric suite with Medical Director, Nurse and Management.
    • Evaluate the patient outcome and meet with the manager and the hyperbaric provider to discuss patient treatment and adjust treatment as necessary.
    • Retrieving patient medical records from required physicians to support need for hyperbaric oxygen therapy and the patients care.
    • Obtains preauthorization for hyperbaric therapy and other procedures within ROC.
    • Documents treatment notes and maintains patient treatment diagnosis records.
    • Answer phone inquiries and schedule patient treatment appointments.
    • Maintains a clean environment in the chambers and hyperbaric suite.
    • Participates in ROC staff meetings and prepares and presents any needed in-service or news regarding hyperbaric.
    • Ascertains the patient’s diagnosis in one of the appropriate ROC approved disorders for hyperbaric therapy.
    • Maintains a safe environment and follows all ROC policies and procedures.
    • Assisting providers with initial hyperbaric appointments.
    • Assists provider and nurse with any emergent hyperbaric events.
    • Assists patients in/out of wheelchairs, on/off of the hyperbaric gurneys. (Nurse will assist)
    • Assist patient with positioning on hyperbaric gurneys.
    • Assists in the clean up of any patient messes or accidents.
    • Use of lift devices for patient care.
    • Completing any job duties management deems necessary for the daily operations of ROC.

    Physical / Functional Job Requirements:

    Must be able to:

    • Lift 50 lbs.
    • Push/Pull 30 lbs.
    • Carry 20lbs.

    Working Conditions:

    • Monday - Friday 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm
    • Eventual full-time options starting in June/July
    • Shift reduced or Cut

    Environmental Conditions:

    • Follow procedures for MDROs including patient handling, use of PPE and hygiene of equipment and facility
    • Follow HIV and other Bloodborne Pathogens guidelines

    Required one of these Current License: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Respiratory Therapist (RT), Registered Nurse (RN), License Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT), Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS), Surgical Technologist (ST), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
