Hyperbaric Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy and diagnostic testing to patients under the direction of a physician. Documents required treatment details including equipment settings, treatment duration, and patient response. Being a Hyperbaric Technician operates hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support systems in accordance to all applicable safety standards and regulations. Performs cleaning of chamber and equipment according to infection control policies. Additionally, Hyperbaric Technician performs equipment checks and system maintenance. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Hyperbaric Technician works under moderate supervision. Job Duties/Description
The Hyperbaric Technologist administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Physician. The HBO Tech is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Meet one of the qualifying pathways as determined by National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) or American Board of Wound Healing (ABWH) (examples include: RN, LPN, Respiratory Therapist, EMT)
Wound and patient imaging, would cleansing, and dressing, and wound measurements. Current NBDHMT or Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS) Certification (or obtained within one year of employment). BLS (or obtained within 90 days of employment)
Attention to detail, multi-tasker, good written and oral communication skills, problem-solving ability.
