Information Technology Director directs the implementation and administration of information systems and equipment in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Develops internal procedures and guidelines to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Being an Information Technology Director analyzes high-level business needs and researches new technologies to identify and select IT hardware and software products to support internal business processes. The Archdiocese of Dubuque is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Information Technology to lead our IT department. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of our organization's technology infrastructure and strategy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB SCOPE: The IT Director’s scope includes managing IT operations for the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center and approximately 1,200 users across a broad geographic region. This involves overseeing staff, processes, cybersecurity, and technology solutions to support the organization’s mission.
COMMUNICATION/CLIENT CONTACT: The IT Director communicates regularly with staff, vendors, and other departments to coordinate IT activities, provide technical guidance, and address user needs. Clear and effective communication is essential for conveying IT-related information and ensuring smooth operations.
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Proficiency in cybersecurity best practices.
Ability to evaluate and implement technology solutions.
Knowledge of relational databases and Google Workspace.
