Information Technology Manager manages the implementation and administration of information systems and equipment in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Administers internal procedures and guidelines to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Being an Information Technology Manager oversees the analysis of business needs and selects IT hardware and software products to support internal business processes. Develops detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications of an organization's IT systems and assists with the planning of the organization's IT roadmap. Additionally, Information Technology Manager manages the IT strategy and roadmap to ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with organizational needs and standards. Plans and implements an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance. Allocates resources and oversees departmental budget to support and manage IT projects through the entire lifecycle. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Information Technology Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Information Technology Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Director, Information Technology Infrastructure

  • Responsible for the alignment of business objectives with technology capabilities. Partners with the business to adapt the IT infrastructure ensuring business tasks can be completed the right way the first time. The Infrastructure and Technical services team will continue to be responsible for our Infrastructure capabilities, including the Service Management Office (SMO), Employee Experience, Disaster Recovery, Databases, Servers, and Middleware.Directs the evaluation of processes to reduce costs and save time. Oversees the Infrastructure team that monitors technology services to be sure they are fully utilized and optimized allowing Eversource to leverage time saving capabilities. Focuses on measuring the success of technologies and ensuring the evolving business needs are being addressed. Monitors the IT landscape to keep informed of IT trends and emerging technologies. Directs the technology facing projects to ensure that goals are met timely, effectively and within budget.

    Essential Functions: 
    • Oversees the Infrastructure team and ensures the organization is working to align business and technology needs.
    • Responsible for forecasting future technology requirements based on analyses of technology trends and business requirements to support continual technology improvement.
    • Develops a technical vision supporting Eversource’s business strategy.
    • Responsible for providing technology solutions.
    • Directs the technology deployment projects to ensure that the delivery is on-time, within budget and meets client business change requirements.
    • Oversees the Product Road Mapping from the Infrastructure team.
    • Establishes Product, Services and Technical standards for Information Technology.
    • Ensures a strong, productive business relationship with vendors and business partners.




    Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

    Technical Knowledge/Skill: 
    • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Track record of leading and delivering cost effective results.
    • Proven ability to evaluate and manage risk.
    • Strong negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to set priorities and focus on appropriate roadblocks that hinder the organizations goals, knowledge and experience.
    • Proven experience in managing all aspects of vendor relationship including vendor performance and SLA adherence.
    • Proven experience coordinating and working cross-functionally across various IT departments
    • Proficient knowledge in ITIL Framework, including Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Control as well as Change Management.
    • Strong knowledge of portfolio, program, and project management including application portfolio rationalization and decommissioning strategies and execution challenges.
    • Strong workload management skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to clearly communicate with at all levels of organization.
    • Utility industry experience a plus but is not required. 
    • Experience with Agile and DevOps preferred.
    • Ability to plan and schedule projects and work under deadlines - must multi-task effectively.
    • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
    • Knowledge of trends in technology relating to software applications.
    • Experience with service level management.
    • Demonstrable ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics.
    • Ability to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally.



    Education:                            
    • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.  Master’s Degree preferred.



    Experience
    • Minimum of twelve (12) years business and technical experience. Experience providing IT support services to customers, employees and/or business partners preferred.

    Working Conditions:
    • Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
    • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
