Injection Molding Machine Operator sets up and operates injection molding machinery to shape plastics. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Injection Molding Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Injection Molding Machine Operator requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Injection Molding Machine Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. 1. High school diploma / GED equivalent is preferred. 2. Must have the ability to calculate part requirements. 3. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously4. Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 7 hours during an 8 hour shift and 10.75 during a 12-hour shift. 5. Minimal lifting capabilities of 30 lbs. at a minimal frequency of 20 times per hour.6. Visual acuity of at least 20/40 corrected vision for distance and a minimum near vision ability to read 7-point font at 12 inches.7. Ability to reach and lift 30 lbs. to shoulder height at a minimum of 10 times per hour.
