    Salary Information: Annual Minimum Salary-$67,200-Annual Maximum Salary-$107,500

    Hiring Range: $32.31-$41.97

    Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded as a 501(c) (3) non-profit medical institution in 2005 aimed at increasing access to health care in medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.


    The University currently offers the degrees of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Arts in Medical Science, and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy enrolling over 550 students annually with plans to develop other programs and/or colleges. Interprofessional education partnerships with other universities adds another 100 students to the population. The campus includes 300 employees with academic programming spread over a five state region.


    PNWU is located in Yakima, WA, a city of approximately 95,000 located in the south central part of the state near the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains in a major agricultural and outdoor recreation region.     General Summary:

    Reporting to the Assistant Provost for Integrated Institutional Effectiveness, the Director for Institutional Research and Reporting is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of institutional research initiatives to support evidence-based decision-making across the organization. This position serves as the institution’s IPEDS Keyholder and a key representative in the data sharing consortium project. Additionally, this position plays a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data to inform planning, continuous improvement, and effectiveness.


    Essential Job Functions:

    • Planning and Leadership:

    o Collaborate  with leaders across the institution to identify and prioritize institutional research needs aligned with the organization’s goals.

    o Provide visionary leadership for the Institutional Research department, setting goals, and ensuring the effective execution of research projects.

    • Data Management:

    o Oversee the collection, validation, and analysis of institutional data from various sources, including student information systems and other relevant sources.

    o Utilize statistical methods and data visualization techniques to present information in a clear and meaningful way for diverse stakeholders.

    o Coordinate the preparation of data and reports for accreditation processes.

    • Reporting and Dissemination:

    o Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders, including trustees, accreditation bodies, and other relevant entities.

    o Develop and maintain a comprehensive institutional data repository for easy access and retrieval of information. 

    • Training and Professional Development:

    o Lead training sessions for staff and faculty on data collection protocols, reporting tools, and the interpretation of findings.

    o Stay abreast of developments in institutional research methodologies. 

    • Collaboration:

    o Foster collaboration with academic programs, student services, and other relevant units to gather comprehensive data for analysis.

    o Work collaboratively with IT to ensure data integrity, security, and the efficient functioning of institutional research system.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.

    proficient in Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and Power BI; and proficient in building relational database queries using programming languages like SQL, Spark SQL R, Python, or Scala
