    Position Summary:

    ARC seeks a highly organized and collaborative team player to join our Information Technology Division as an Instructional Designer & Trainer.  The processes for applying for grants, selecting, and approving grants and managing grants is highly technical, and involves the use of a customized grants management system (GMS).  The system is used both internally by managers and coordinators, and by applicants and grantees.  ARC is implementing a successor to its current system, expected to go live in 2025.

    Key to the success of the new GMS is providing training for all its users, from first-time applicants to experienced staff working in supervisory roles. 

    The position will be responsible for designing and delivering training to all ARC staff, state partners and other constituents (including applicants and grantees). This is a diverse group with many levels of educational attainment.

    Training will be conducted in person, in classroom or workshop settings, online or asynchronous.  The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing all coursework and curriculum materials as well as managing all online training communities. They will also be responsible for creating computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards. 

    While the primary focus is the new GMS, there will be scope to deliver training in other technical areas on other software, systems and equipment used at ARC. This position reports to the Director, Information Technology.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Solid knowledge of instructional theory and instructional systems design, including assessment.
    • Strong expertise with curriculum design.
    • Adept at designing and creating course materials and content.
    • Advanced proficiency with learning and course management systems.
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
    • Solid  experience with design platforms, such as InDesign.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field such as an educational institution.
    • Master’s degree in instructional design, education, or related field strongly preferred.
    • Minimum 2 solid years of work knowledge with design experience in eLearning.
    • Teaching license and classroom experience a plus.
    • Core competencies: accountability, adaptability, collaboration, communication, critical analysis.
    • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and to bring an energetic and innovative approach to the work.
    • Successful completion (prior to hire) and maintenance of background security review.
    • Ability to travel (up to 10%) and must possess a valid driver's license.
