Role:
Develop and/or collaborate and assist in design solutions and provide project coordination for all project phases, from concept through construction. You will be part of a team that creates impactful and memorable experiences in the hospitality, restaurant, mixed use, healthcare, and residential markets.
Tasks may include the following:
- Assist in analyzing the client’s needs, goals, and safety requirements in accordance with codes and standards.
- Coordinate with the Sr Designers, Design Director/Sr VP and project team(s) on the entire project, which may include layout drawings, color coordination, furniture selection, design concept, installation, and sign-off for all project phases, including planning and programming, conceptual design, presentations, schematic design, design development, FF&E sourcing and specifications, and construction documents.
- Provide assistance with construction administration as necessary, which would include review of product/finishes and shop drawings for final review by the Senior Designer and/or Design Director/Sr VP
- Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives.
- Produce graphic presentations and working/construction documents and specifications for non-load bearing interior construction, reflected ceiling plans, lighting, interior detailing, materials, finishes, space planning, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment in compliance with universal accessibility guidelines and applicable codes.
- Develop and maintain client work file containing records of all written correspondence, notes on all pertinent verbal discussions, design sketches and schedules
- Maintains accurate details of hours worked on each job with breakdown of job tasks.
- Attend site visits, client meetings and presentations and/or coordination meetings when requested
- Maintain client confidence and good relations.
- Develop and exhibit self-direction and curiosity while working in a collaborative environment
- Continue personal education through seminars, professional organization, and other training.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge and understanding of design theories, material, and color with comprehensive knowledge of design standards and an understanding of chosen specialty operations
- Working knowledge and understanding for the development of FF&E Specifications
- Working knowledge in management and coordination of construction drawing sets with understanding of construction detailing, materials, methods, and codes
- Working knowledge in management and coordination of FF&E specification deliverables/implementation and available vendors/fabricators
- Ability to collaborate and contribute towards the implementation of a design concept in a team environment through completion that is on schedule and meets budget and design intent
- Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Is collaborative, self-motivated, positive, and flexible with excellent customer service skills.
- Bachelors Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field from an accredited school is preferred
- Minimum of 4-6 years of professional commercial design experience, preferably in your specialty
- Working towards NCIDQ or CID certification; or if obtained, is required to be titled Interior Designer, in good standing
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCad, Photoshop and InDesign as well as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
Jr Designer (non-licensed)
