Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
Provides technical support to engineers during the design of manufacturing processes for a production facility. Assists in the development of layouts or floor plans, conducts tests and troubleshoots equipment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Other Duties May Also Be Assigned)
- Assists in the development of processes for manufactured chemicals during scale up of new products from the Technology group and investigates the use of new process equipment to resolve or improve upon processing cycle time issues.
- Ability to run analytical testing as well as functional testing if needed.
- Conducts research, collects data and works with Engineer to develop a plan for resolving manufactured product and product transfer issues.
- Uses SPC techniques when implementing new or improved manufacturing processes.
- Prepares monthly written reports for Manager with appropriate updates on ongoing projects and workload.
Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- >5 years experience in Manufacturing protocol or Scale-up Product/Process Development or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and readily able to learn company and additional software.
- Highly proficient in note-taking for the purpose of insuring potential intellectual property capable of being realized by the organization.
- Highly proficient and evolved problem-solving ability; able to define problems, collect data, perform FMEAs when applicable, implement plan, collect data and introduce and monitor metrics of the plan.
- Proficient in statistical techniques for data analysis and performing necessary DOEs.

- Ability to tolerate moderate noise levels.
- Ability to tolerate OSHA safe levels of solvents, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals with a minimum of discomfort, as is sometimes experiences in a laboratory and/or manufacturing environment.
- On-call availability and periodic overtime.
PHSYICAL DEMANDS
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers (or skill with adaptive devices) to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computing equipment.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
