Insulation Worker applies insulating material to exposed surfaces of structures such as air ducts, hot and cold pipes, storage tanks, and cold storage rooms. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being an Insulation Worker is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Insulation Worker performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. - Looking for an experienced loose fill and dense pack insulation installer (cellulose experience preferred). Some carpentry experience is a plus but not required.
- Prepare existing and new construction homes for energy upgrades.
- Tasks include air sealing, insulation prep, dam and hatch construction, ventilation and ducting work, insulation installation, and possibly blower door and combustion safety testing.
- Must have and maintain a working vehicle for personal transportation and an active cell phone.
- All job sites are non-smoking.
Position includes energy retrofit work for existing homes and new construction projects. We focus on cellulose insulation installs and Efficiency Maine program improvements. Candidate must be able to lift 50lbs and work consistently with a good attitude.
