Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor supervises interior fabrication of aircraft including mechanics, the fitting of sub-assemblies to the aircraft, and final aircraft interior production. Ensures compliance with all engineering, FAA, and customer regulations and specifications. Being an Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. The Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. To be an Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Finish Specialist, with minimal supervision, performs finishing preparation, application and polishing of parts and minor repair and touch-up work in a safe, clean and organized work area according to customer expectations and Duncan Aviation approved procedures. Essential Job Functions- With minimal supervision, prepares cabinet surfaces and substrates for paint or finish and miscellaneous plastic, metal and leather parts for paint or dye to customer satisfaction and Duncan Aviation approved procedures using appropriate equipment.
- With minimal supervision, applies stains, dyes, paints or finishes to prepared parts. Mixes paint and stains as needed.
- With minimal supervision, performs basic detail work, polish and clean-up on finished items.
- With minimal supervision, performs structural and decorative repairs as required.
- With minimal supervision researches, prepares, and signs off various documents for record keeping purposes as required by Duncan Aviation approved procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations (i.e. turnovers, removal sheets, flammability testing, W.O. Sheets, personal training log, FAA 8110-3 & FAA 337's, and other work order related documents supporting the review of squawks and expected hours).
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- Licenses/Certificates: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; Respirator Fit qualified
- Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required
- Physical: Routinely lifts 50 lbs., occasionally 100 lbs.; reads small print; identifies small finish imperfections; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates working in confined spaces; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
- Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
Finish Specialist I:- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Minimum one year related experience required
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Minimum two years related experience required
- Minimum two years aviation finish experience preferred
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Minimum four years related experience required
- Minimum three years aviation finish experience preferred
