  • Position Summary

    The Inventory Control Manager (ICM) is responsible for managing all operations related to inventory control, expediting, wrap room, stock put away, and returns departments. The ICM will provide leadership, direction, and oversight to accomplish operational goals successfully and effectively. The ICM should have a strong knowledge of people management and inventory control best practices. The ICM should also have functional knowledge of the various other departments within distribution center operations.

    The ICM is responsible for ensuring all inventory employees reflect and embody Webstaurant Store’s core values to include the development of their reports, both professionally and culturally. The ICM will be responsible for enforcing all company policies and standards to ensure fair and proper treatment of all employees/situations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Adjudication Guidelines

    • Establish, train, and manage all procedures in Expediting, Inventory Control, Replenishment, Stock Put Away, Returns, and Wrap Room
    • Ensure quality of receiving, stocking, and shipping processes through analysis and development of strategies for dealing with trends and training inventory personnel on issue resolution and communication
    • Communicate training opportunities and strategies to appropriate management
    • Develop and maintain positions, projects and reports to sustain and increase efficiency of warehouse operations
    • Control and communication of email traffic and chain of custody documents to ensure operational accuracy and that issues are resolved promptly
    • Decrease company losses through accountability of product
    • Consult and communicate with all facets of the operation to increase productivity and accuracy
    • Drive productivity of inventory departments by identifying and solving problems and training personnel in day to day issues.
    • Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions
    • Conduct daily/weekly meetings with all inventory Associates and Managers
    • Continuously develop and measure performance of inventory Managers and Team Leaders
    • Establish goals for inventorying processes
    • Maintenance and monitoring of information systems to ensure quality and service throughout the operation

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Organized with exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneously
    • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Knowledge and understanding of employment law and non-exempt and exempt employee management
    • Demonstrated experience managing full life cycles of employees
    • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to exercise high emotional intelligence
    • Ability to work off-shifts as required to respond to urgent needs
    • Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change
    • Proficiency with computers as well as in depth working knowledge of MS Office products

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 8-12 hours/day depending on shift.
    • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
    • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
    • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
    • Requires the ability to regularly lift / carry 50-75lbs. and push / pull up to 150lbs.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
